Robert Gibbins, Sr

Robert Gibbins, Sr., age 47, of Zebulon, passed away December 26, 2025, at his home. Robert grew up in Zebulon. He worked for Blalock Heating & Air for the last three years as a service Technician. 

Music was a deep joy for Robert. He especially loved playing the piano, often finding peace and expression through music. He cherished time with his family and especially loved being a father. His children meant everything to him, and despite his struggles, he never stopped trying to show up for them with love. He had great delight in being an uncle, enjoying laughter, conversations, and simply being present with his family, big things and small things, from morning coffee to family dinners.

A meaningful part of Robert’s life was his commitment to recovery. Through Alcoholics Anonymous, he found community, purpose, and the courage to keep showing up one day at a time. AA meetings were a place of connection and service for him, and he offered support and understanding to others walking the same path.

He was deeply loved, and his passing is a reminder of the importance of compassion, connection, and support.

He is survived by his wife: Lorienne Gibbins; children: Hannah Lamothe (Jordan), Robert Gibbins II (Evie) and Jonah Gibbins; parents: Homer Lee and Debra Gibbins; brother: Homer Gibbins (Amy); sister: Karen Pate (Bryan); and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life for Robert will be held at a later date.
