Russel Bryan Vandiver, known to family and friends as Bryan, was born on February 24, 1971, in Atlanta, Fulton County, Georgia, and passed away on August 22, 2026, Brightmoor Hospice, Griffin, Spalding County, Georgia.
Bryan was the beloved son of Snooky Hutchins Vandiver and the late Scott Fleming Vandiver, Sr. He will be remembered by those who knew and loved him for the place he held in their lives and hearts.
Bryan attended Fayette County High School and later furthered his education at Griffin Technical College, where he completed training in construction. He was very smart and had a deep knowledge of the Bible; those who knew him remember hearing him quote Scripture often. Like all of us, Bryan had his struggles and imperfections, but he also had a heart for his church and gave of himself in meaningful ways.
Bryan was a member of Ebenezer Church, in Fayette County, Georgia, since April 4th, 1982, and was baptized that same day. He was known to help whenever needed. When the Sunday school teacher was absent, Bryan would step in and teach, and he also participated in Sunday morning devotions before Sunday School.
Along with his mother, Snooky, Bryan is survived by his daughter, Lea Vandiver; two brothers, Scott Vandiver, Jr. (Corolla), Jay Vandiver (Joyce); his sister-in-law, Cindy Carter Vandiver; two sisters, Joy Vandiver McNorton (Larry), Amy Vandiver Hardin (Bob); nieces and nephews, Audreyana, Jacob, Holly, Storm, Waylen, Sammy and Ashlyn; numerous great nieces and nephews; and a lifelong friend, Eddy Haislip.
Along with his father, Scott Fleming Vandiver Sr.; Bryan was preceded in death by his brother, Paul Vandiver; nephew, Little Jay Vandiver; grandparents, Nina & Lightnin and Mama Van; and a lifelong friend, Scott Vondenbosch.
