Ruth Vickery Pippins

Mrs. Ruth Vickery Pippins, age 85, of Thomaston, died Monday, December 23, 2024, at the residence of her grandson in Woodland, GA.  Funeral services for Mrs. Pippins will be held Friday, December 27, at 11:00 AM, in the chapel of Fletcher-Day Funeral Home.  Rev. Joey Smith will officiate, and interment will follow in South View Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening, December 26, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.

Mrs. Pippins was born in Cuthbert, GA, on December 24, 1938, to the late Isom Vickery and Jewell McChargue Vickery.  She had been employed by Manchester Mills, Carter's, and Playtex.  Mrs. Pippins enjoyed camping, shopping, and spending time with her family.  She was of the Baptist faith. In addition to he parents, Mrs. Pippins was preceded in death by her husband, Jackson Eugene Pippins; two sons: Terry Eugene Pippins and Jerry Keith Pippins; and two sisters: Margie Archer and Elizabeth Nix.  She is survived by a granddaughter, Katie (James) Cheek of Thomaston; a grandson, Keith (Anna) Pippins of Woodland; and a great grandson, Jackson Cole Cheek. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
