SCTC Sees Consistent Enrollment Growth

Griffin, Georgia, September 5, 2025 –

Southern Crescent Technical College (SCTC) has once again seen a significant leap in enrollment with the kickoff of the 2025 Fall Semester. The latest figures indicate that 6,867 students are currently registered for credit courses, representing an 11.1% increase compared to Fall Semester 2024. Additionally, the number of credit hours taken by students has increased 13.3%, demonstrating a stronger academic commitment across the board.  Across the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG), all colleges combined have now surpassed 1 million credit hours, underscoring the increasing value and impact of technical education throughout the state.

One of the most notable areas of growth is Dual Enrollment, which rose from 2,071 students in Fall 2024 to 2,584 in Fall 2025, marking a 24.8% increase on top of the 14.2% increase experienced between Fall 2023 and Fall 2024.

Enrollment gains were also seen across SCTC’s centers and high-demand programs:

  • Butts County Center: Enrollment increased significantly due to a 45% increase in class offerings and the launch of the LPN/Paramedic to RN Bridge program.

  • Jasper County Center: Enrollment grew by 6%, supported by a 30.8% increase in class offerings and the addition of the LPN/Paramedic to RN Bridge program.

  • High-Demand Programs: Enrollment grew by 40.3% overall, with standout gains in Registered Nursing (98.5%), Certified Nursing Assistant (47.4%), and Manufacturing (35.4%).

Associate Vice President of Enrollment Management Drew Todd reflected on the historic growth, stating, “We are excited that Southern Crescent Technical College’s enrollment is at an all-time high. This growth reflects the hard work of our faculty and staff, the value of our academic programs, and the trust students and families are placing in the College. Our team is committed to making sure every student has access to a high-quality education that prepares them for meaningful careers and lifelong success.”

This surge continues SCTC’s positive trajectory in recent years. Enrollment during the 2025 Spring Semester was the highest since 2010, and this fall’s record-setting numbers reinforce the College’s momentum. Boosting enrollment has been a key priority for SCTC President Dr. Irvin Clark, who has worked diligently across all divisions of the College since assuming leadership.

Clark shared, “In the past few years, our entire team has been laser-focused on new initiatives at Southern Crescent Technical College to move the needle in several key areas. I am thrilled to report that our efforts have produced positive results with a substantial increase in enrollment. This growth shows that more and more people recognize the value of a technical education for both outstanding career preparation and an exceptional collegiate experience. Our mission is workforce development, and it is clear we are meeting the needs of our community.”

With expanded offerings in high-demand fields, innovative programs tailored to workforce needs, and a strong commitment to student success, Southern Crescent Technical College is poised to continue this trajectory of growth into future semesters.
