Sharon Lynn Hammond

Ms. Sharon Lynn Hammond, age 56, of Barnesville, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2025, surrounded by loving family. Sharon was born on September 3, 1969, in Atlanta. For many years she worked as a waitress, office manager and a stay-at-home mom. 

She is preceded in death by her father, George (Gene) McLendon, of Newnan, grandmothers, Myra O’Pry of Phenix City, AL and Doris Miracle of Reynolds.

She is survived by her loving son: Justin (Ashley) Hammond; grandkids: Cooper, Ava and Aiden of Montgomery, TX; sister: Bonnie Hensley of Barnesville, mother: Susan (Jacky) Pines of Barnesville; the love of her life: Jody Hammond of Barnesville; many cousins, nephews, aunts and uncles.

The family will hold a celebration of life on Thursday, September 11, 2025, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., at Sharon’s mother’s home, 591 Unionville Road, Barnesville. Family and friends are invited to attend.
