Stanford Gary Anthony

Mr. Stanford Gary Anthony, 82, of Butler, GA, died August 27, 2026, at Navicent  Peach Medical Center in Ft. Valley, GA.

Mr. Anthony was born on September 28, 1943, in Pike County, Georgia to the late Henry T. Anthony and the late Susan Ella Anthony.  He worked at Peerless Mills and was of the Baptist Faith.  Mr. Gary loved fishing, gardening, working in his yard and cooking.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Martha Sue Anthony, brothers, Edgar and Gene Anthony, and sister, Eloise Anthony.

Survivors include his wife, Laverne Byrd Anthony of Butler, stepdaughters, Bobbie Whitmer of Thomaston, Terrie (Robert) Reid of Butler, Cindy (Richard) Hismith of Reynolds, son, Gary (Darlene) Anthony of Molena, stepson, Rickey (Miriam) Allen of Thomaston, grandchildren, Elise Anthony, Chasity Anthony Bryant, step grandchildren, Charles Whitmer, Scott Whitmer, Aimee Whitmer, Tonya Weaver, Dustin Robinson, Karen Murphy, Robbie Reid, Johnathon Allen, Brooks Holloway, Jennifer Hutchinson, many great and great-grandchildren also survive.  

Memorial services will be held on Sunday, September 6, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. from Turners Chapel in Butler.  The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 6, 2026, from 1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. at Turners Chapel.
