Stephen Anthony Bates

Mr. Stephen Anthony Bates, age 55, of Milner passed away September 29, 2024, at his home.  Stephen grew up in Lilburn, GA, lived in Titusville, FL for 37 years and graduated from Titusville High School in 1987.  He moved to Milner in 2022 to be near his parents. Stephen enjoyed working on cars, hunting and fishing. He was a self-employed automobile mechanic and worked in the heating and air conditioning business. Stephen loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them.

He is survived by his parents: Jackie and Bill Wells; father: Johnny Bates; brothers: John Bates (Debbie) and Warren Wells; nephews: Matthew Bates (Rebecca), John A. Bates (Katie) and William Bates.

Friends may visit the family on Friday, October 4, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., at Christian Fellowship Baptist Church, 970 McKinley Road, Zebulon.

Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m., at the church with Rev. Al Shackelford officiating.
