Terry Laine Patrick Smith

Ms. Terry Laine Patrick Smith, age 57, of McDonough, went home to be with the Lord on February 16, 2026 after a courageous battle with cancer. She fought with strength, faith and determination through it all.

Terry grew up in Barnesville, Georgia. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, listening to music and watching scary movies. She never met a Dr Pepper she didn’t like. She was strong willed and stubborn, yet her heart was tender and her soul was kind.

She was preceded in death by her parents James Ceil Patrick and Brenda Jo Dumas Patrick, sister Toni Coffey and brother Kirk Patrick.

She leaves behind her children Tina Diaz (Luis), Andrew Brown and Brandie McCoy; her grandchildren Eva, Lilly and Kayden; her sister Tracey Day (Rodney); her brother Aaron Patrick (Misty); her aunt and uncle Charlotte and Robert Patrick; close friend Claudette Hinds whom she lived with for the last 14 years of her life; and several nieces, nephews and cousins who will cherish her memory.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date. The family will share details as they are made available.

Her daughter Tina shares, “Three years ago we spent Christmas at Universal Studios. I convinced my mom to ride Transformers for the first time. She laughed the whole time on the ride and when we got off she smiled and said, ‘That was fun.’ That is a memory I will never forget.”

Her son Andrew shares, “I will always be your doodle bug, Mom. I love you and will miss you every day.”

Her daughter Brandie shares, “Mama would always call me her Pooh baby. I love you so much and will miss you.”

Though she fought a hard battle, she now rests in eternal peace.
