Thomaston-Upson School Board Thursday

NOTICE OF PROPERTY TAX INCREASE

Thomaston-Upson School Board has tentatively adopted a millage rate which will require an increase in property taxes by 3.57%.

All concerned citizens are invited to the public hearings on this tax increase to be held at the Board of Education Office, 205 Civic Center Dr., Thomaston, GA on Tuesday, August 12th, 2025 at 7:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Times and places of additional public hearings on this tax increase are at the Board of Education Office, 205 Civic Center Dr., Thomaston, GA on Tuesday, August 19th, 2025 at 6:00 p.m.

This tentative increase will result in a millage rate of 13.130 mills, an increase of .452 mills. Without this tentative tax increase, the millage rate will be no more than 12.678 mills.

The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $200,000 is approximately $35.26 and the proposed tax increase for non-homestead property with a fair market value of $125,000 is approximately $22.60.
