Tornado Confirmed In Upson

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS CONFIRMED AN EF-1 TORNADO TOUCHED DOWN IN UPSON COUNTY NEAR ATWATER ROAD BETWEEN WILLINGHAM SPRINGS AND WEEMS ROAD EARLY THURSDAY. EMA DIRECTOR RICHARD HICKMON SAID A TORNADO WARNING WAS ISSUED AT 1;12AM. TREES WERE DOWNED IN THE AREA AND HEAVY DAMAGE TO THE HOME OF KERI AND RODNEY FORDHAM. A BIG OAK TREE IN THE BACKYARD TORE THROUGH THE ATTIC INTO A BEDROOM AND PUT A HOLE IN THE LAUNDRY ROOM WALL AND TOOK OUT PART OF THE DECK.
