UPDATE: Thomaston Police Department Update on North Main Street Shooting


THOMASTON, GA – June 11, 2026 – The Thomaston Police Department continues to actively investigate the shooting that occurred on June 4, 2026, in the 400 block of North Main Street. 

 

As previously reported, officers responded to the area at approximately 10:22 p.m. after receiving reports of multiple gunshots. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male suffering from gunshot wounds and immediately rendered aid until emergency medical personnel arrived. The victim was transported to Upson Regional Medical Center for treatment and was reported to be in stable condition.

 

Since the incident, investigators with the Criminal Investigations Division have worked diligently to identify those responsible and gather evidence related to the case. Through the course of the investigation, four suspects have been identified. 

 

At this time, two individuals have been arrested. One juvenile suspect is currently being held at the Regional Youth Detention Center (RYDC) in Macon and has been charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Person Under 18 Years of Age, Discharging a Firearm Within 50 Yards of a Public Street, Reckless Conduct, two counts of Party to the Crime of Aggravated Assault, and Criminal Damage to Property.  A second suspect, Korien Thomas of Thomaston, is currently being held at the Upson County Jail. He has been charged with Tampering with Evidence and Possession of a Firearm by a Person Under 18 Years of Age.

 

Arrest warrants for two additional suspects are pending. Investigators anticipate that additional arrests and charges may be forthcoming as the investigation continues.  Due to the active and ongoing nature of this case, no further details are being released at this time. The Thomaston Police Department remains committed to conducting a thorough investigation and holding those responsible accountable.
