UPSON BOC WANTS TO GIVE THE STATE THE GSP BARRACKS

Notes from the March work session of the Upson County Commissioners--Wednesday. The board wants to follow a suggestion from new Chair Dan Breu and have one voting meeting per month--the 4th Tuesday. Planning to hold meetings in the new justice center jury room. Planning a 6-month moratorium on flag lots. Want to give the GSP barracks and old G DOT building on Andrews drive back to the state. Move the tax assessors office to the former probate court space in the government complex, sell the chamber of commerce building, move tax commissioner's office to Drake building, and get Thomaston City Hall to help with a purpose for the empty courthouse.
