UPSON CO SHERIFF DAN KILGORE REPORTS A BURGLARY

 News Release

 

On October 7, 2025 a Burglary was reported at Sunnyside Beverage located at 3087 Crest Highway in western Upson County. Video from the store surveillance camera noted four subjects dressed in all black entered the business by kicking open the front door at approximately 10:15pm on Monday night, October 6, 2025. The alarm sounded and the door was closed when the perpetrators ran away from the store. The closed door rendered the burglary unnoticed until the store operator arrived the next day.  While inside the store the burglars took THC vapes pens and smoking devices valued at approximately $4000 dollars.

 

Deputies and investigators were called to the scene and developed evidence resulting in the arrest of four individuals.  Ryan James Filkins, 17. Edwin Guillen, 17. Demarkus Mekail Holt,17. A 16 year old male. All suspects are from Thomaston  and have been charged with burglary and were taken to the Upson County Jail.

 

Investigators were able to recover some of the stolen property including approximately 51 grams of suspected marijuana which will be sent to the GBI crime lab for testing.    

 

This investigation is active and ongoing
