Vivian English Palmer

Mrs. Vivian English Palmer, age 82, of Concord, passed away March 2, 2026.  She was born in Atlanta, GA, daughter of the late Hugh P. English and Dorothy S. Hollingsworth.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Ralph Edward Palmer.

She is survived by her children: Chanda Palmer Steele (Wayne), April Palmer Rush, and Tyki Palmer (Teresa); grandchildren: Carter English Steele, Summer Steele Hill (Houston), Spencer Michael Rush, and Brett Palmer Parker.

Vivian worked at AT&T where she retired after 30 years. She loved keeping things organized including everyone that was around her. She spent more than half of her life teaching Sunday School and singing in the choir. There were times that she even led the choir when needed. Her love for music was an everlasting impact on all of our lives, with her favorite genre being Southern Gospel. She had a gift for teaching people about the Bible and Jesus. It was expected that when someone was struggling that she would quote scripture that would help guide them through the storm. While teaching Sunday School, she would always bring a focus of living a day-to-day life led by Christ centered decisions. Her wisdom guided so many in the right direction of being a good spouse, parent, employee, leader, and so much more. Her love of sports is what lead her to find the love of her life. She was keeping score for her church men's softball team when she took notice of a hot shot 3rd basemen on the opposing church team. She often told the story of how he was playing for her church the next season.

Vivian loved her family and friends. We all knew that as our Mother and Nana she was a force to behold because not only was she coming to see about us, but she also brought Jesus and an army of angels with her. Her example of living for Jesus was so powerful and impactful everywhere she went. She never met a stranger and everyone that encountered her would walk away knowing they had made a friend for life.

There will be a celebration of life service held at Mountain View Baptist Church, Thomaston, GA on Saturday March 7, 2026.  Visitation will be at 12:00 and the service will immediately follow at 1:00.
