Wanda Jones Lee

Mrs. Wanda Jones Lee, age 71, of Molena, passed away February 14, 2026.  Wanda was born in Zebulon, daughter of the late William Kelly Jones, Sr. and the late Mary Hammond Jones. She spent much of her childhood in Zebulon and would fondly tell stories of walking to her grandparent’s service station, Jones Amoco.  Later, her family moved to Griffin, and she graduated from Griffin High School. She attended Gordon College where she earned her associate degree in Nursing and where she met her husband, Zane. She worked at Griffin Hospital until her son, Andy, was born. 

Wanda met life-long friends while traveling with Zane on business trips. She loved bird watching, flowers, fishing, and trips to the beach. She was an excellent cook and known for her wonderful pimento cheese, biscuits, and chicken and dumplings. She was a gracious host and enjoyed having friends and family over for meals where there was always plenty of food and enough leftovers to take home. 

In her younger years, Wanda attended Mt. Gilead Baptist Church and was currently an active member of Zebulon First Baptist Church. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, who adored her family and took wonderful care of them. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, who called her Mimi. 

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her cousin, Johnny Perkins, mother-in-law, Vivian Lee, and grandmother-in-law, Rosa Lee King. 

She is survived by her husband of 47 years: Zane Lee; children: Andy Lee (Sandi) and Mindi Stripling (Christopher); grandchildren: Carson, Austin, Leah, Holden, Colton, Brody, and Juliet; brothers and a sister: Kelly Jones (Jenni), Luann Dean (Dan Seavers), Davey Jones (Robin); many nieces and nephews.

Friends may visit the family on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.  

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at 11 a.m., in Eastview Cemetery Adams Street, Zebulon. Pastor Matt Hinesley will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, contribution may be made to Zebulon First Baptist Church, Backpack Ministry or Building Fund, P.O. Box 312, Zebulon, GA 30295, in memory of Wanda.
