Willard Anthony “Tony” Montogomery


Mr. Willard Anthony “Tony” Montogomery, age 69, of Zebulon, passed away February 26, 2026, at Heritage Inn Health and Rehab in Barnesville. Tony was born in Thomaston. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He worked as a maintenance technician at Henry Wood Chevrolet in Thomaston for many years and then for St. Joe Container in Dothan, Alabama. He had a beautiful voice and enjoyed playing his guitar and singing.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Alice Montgomery Kennedy, grandparents, who raised him, Clifford Montgomery and Willie Mae Beeland Montgomery, brother, Neal Kennedy and great-grandson, Gavin Crew Kiser.

He is survived by his children: Thomas Montgomery (Kelly) and January Montgomery Trent; step-daughter:  Barbara Kocher; grandchildren: Aleigha Burke (Johnathan Harrington), Randall Bennett III, Logan Bennett Pope (Mason), Ashton Montgomery, Emma Montgomery Kiser (Hunter), Ashton Herring and Aidan Herring; great-grandchildren: Kassie Sky Harrington, Kensley Harrington and Maddox Pope; mother of his children: Susan Johnson; several cousins, aunts and uncles. 

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home. Friends may visit the family on Saturday, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., at the funeral home.
