A Train - Truck Crash Claims The Life of One

A man died after his car collided with a train in Lamar County on Thursday morning, according to a report from the Georgia State Patrol (GSP).
GSP said Victavius Davis, 35, was driving east in a tractor-trailer when he approached the train tracks on Highway 41 in Lamar County around 9:15 a.m. on Thursday. Davis didn’t stop for the train, continuing onto the tracks as the train neared.
The train rammed into Davis’ tractor-trailer, flipping it and knocking him out of the vehicle. Davis was life-flighted to the trauma center at Atrium Health Navicent in Macon.
Lamar County Coroner James Tillery said they pronounced Davis dead around 11:30 a.m. on Thursday.
Firefighters were using extrication equipment to cut the engineer out of the locomotive. He reportedly has a back injury that is non life-threatening.
According to Barnesville dot com, There is video of the crash from surveillance equipment at the quarry. That is being reviewed by the state patrol.
