The Thomaston Police Department, with assistance from the Upson County Sheriff's Office, has arrested a local business owner following an investigation into the illegal sale of vape products to underage juveniles.
Over the past several weeks, the Thomaston Police Department received numerous complaints regarding juveniles purchasing vape products, including vape devices containing THC, from Thomaston Tobacco and Vape, LLC, located at 1091 Highway 19 North, Suite B, in Thomaston, Georgia.
During the course of the investigation, officers also responded to and investigated an incident involving a subject who reportedly overdosed after allegedly purchasing products from the business. Following that incident, investigators began conducting surveillance operations and multiple controlled purchases utilizing underage confidential sources.
During the controlled purchases, investigators determined that the owner of the business, Abdulghafoor Saleh, sold the vape products, including vape devices containing THC, to the underage confidential sources.
On May 14, 2026, officers with the Thomaston Police Department and deputies with the Upson County Sheriff’s Office made contact with Saleh at the business location. Saleh was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Upson County Jail. He was charged with illegal sale of vape products to minors.
The Thomaston Police Department remains committed to protecting the safety and wellbeing of the community’s youth and will continue to investigate businesses or individuals involved in the unlawful sale of controlled or age-restricted substances to juveniles.
This investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges may be forthcoming.
