Pike County Wreck Clams Life of One & Send Another to Grady

At 3:43 p.m.  Pike County deputies responded to a motor vehicle collision on Highway 19 at Patton Road.

A Toyota Rav-4 had been traveling northbound when it veered off of the roadway and then overcorrected entering the southbound lanes. The Rav-4 struck a Georgia Power Ford F-250 and then collided with a GMC Acadia, that was also traveling southbound on Highway 19.

The driver of the Rav-4 , Maria Rodriguez-Luna, 61 years of age from Smyrna, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Theresa Gray , 49 years of age, from Thomaston, was air lifted to Grady for medical treatment. 35 year old , Joshua Hickman was uninjured after being struck in the Georgia Power truck.

The cause of this collision is still under investigation.
