The Griffin Judicial Circuit recognized by State of Georgia’s Standing Committee

The Griffin Judicial Circuit was recently recognized by the State of Georgia’s Standing Committee on Judicial Workload Assessment as being a Clearance Rate Excellence Award recipient. This award recognizes those judicial circuits who have maintained a clearance rate of 100% or more for three consecutive years by resolving as many or more cases than were filed each year.

Chief Judge Scott Ballard of the Griffin Judicial Circuit said of the award, “I am extremely proud of our Circuit for receiving such a prestigious honor. I contribute this success not only to my colleagues in the judiciary but also to law enforcement, the district attorney’s office, defense bar and the superior court clerks and their staff, not to mention the addition of the Upson County Judicial Complex which has had an immediate impact on the amount of cases that we can resolve.”

The Griffin Judicial Circuit is comprised of Fayette, Spalding, Pike, and Upson counties and is presided over in the Superior Court by Chief Judge Scott Ballard, Judge Fletcher Sams, Judge Rhonda Kreuziger, Judge Ben Miller, Jr. and Judge Ben Coker.
