Thomaston Man Arrested on Drug Charges

On Thursday April 18, 2024 Agents from the Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Task Force with the assistance of the Thomaston Police Department and Georgia State Patrol executed a search warrant at 617 East Lee Street after Sgt. Matt Allen (TPD) and Sgt. Mario Cromer (UCSO) received information that a package containing illegal narcotics was being delivered to a Dontavious Shamar Walker, age 32 of Thomaston, at the E. Lee Street address. Upon Agents executing the search warrant, they discovered approximately 9.5 pounds of marijuana, 4 ounces of Mushrooms and an extremely hazardous clandestine lab used to manufacture large amounts of synthetic marijuana.


During the execution of the warrant Dontavious Walker fled from the house on foot and after a brief chase he was apprehended by without incident. Walker was transported to the Upson County Jail where he was charged with Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Mushrooms with Intent to Distribute, Violation of the Criminal Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act, and Manufacturing of a Schedule I Controlled Substance.

The lab was dismantled by Cpt. Brian Hammock of TPD who is Clandestine Lab State Certified officer trained to dismantle illegal labs. We would also like to thank the Meriwether County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance with the case.
