Upson county Sheriff Dan Kilgore reports an eastbound log truck flipped over at 74 west near Pickard Rd., lost its logs and caught fire around 2pm Friday. The driver sustained only minor injuries , but traffic was blocked in both directions. The driver said his load shifted in a curve and he lost control. County volunteer fire departments put the fire out and Georgia DOT was on the scene supervising the log clean-up and making sure the roadway was not damaged.

Sheriff Kilgore turned the accident investigation over to post 26 of the Georgia State Patrol.
