SUPERIOR COURT JUDGE FLETCHER SAMS RETIRING
FAYETTEVILLE — On Nov. 14, Griffin Judicial Circuit Superior Court Judge Fletcher Sams announced his retirement effective Jan. 31, 2026. FATALITY IN A PIKE CO WRECK WED.
On Wednesday November 12, 2025 at approximately 6:38 a.m. Pike County deputies were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash on Highway 74 near Dripping Rock Road. Reports indicated a passenger car struck a tractor trailer head on. Upon arrival the driver, Kaylee Harrison, 21, of Woodbury was found to be deceased. At approximately 12:13pm on October 23,2025 deputies responded to 286 Martin Luther King Dr. in the Lincoln Park community of Upson County to a shooting. News Release On October 7, 2025 a Burglary was reported at Sunnyside Beverage located at 3087 Crest Highway in western Upson County. Video from the store surveillance camera noted four subjects dressed in all black entered the business by kicking open the front door at approximately 10:15pm on Monday night, October 6, 2025.
