John Wayne Lowry Sr
Mr. John Wayne Lowry Sr. age 73 of Thomaston, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2026. Mr. Lowry was born on November 6, 1952, in Thomaston, Georgia to the late Arggie Ree Lowry and the late Mozell Torbert Lewis. He worked as a chicken farmer; he loved blue grass music and was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his grandson, Dayne Lowry. Mr. Billy Wayne Avery, age 89, of Daphne, Alabama, passed away peacefully at his home on February 27, 2026, surrounded by his family. Mr. Willard Anthony “Tony” Montogomery, age 69, of Zebulon, passed away February 26, 2026, at Heritage Inn Health and Rehab in Barnesville. Tony was born in Thomaston. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He worked as a maintenance technician at Henry Wood Chevrolet in Thomaston for many years and then for St. Joe Container in Dothan, Alabama. NEWS RELEASE On Thursday, February 19, 2026 at 6:31pm deputies responded to a person shot call at 2030 Wiley Street in Thomaston.
